Trouwen in Ibiza

Ibiza heeft twee reputaties en maar één ervan raakt een trouwweekend. De clubs en beachclubs in het zuiden en westen zijn echt, duur en makkelijk te vermijden; het noorden en het binnenland zijn stil, bebost en agrarisch, vol witgekalkte finca's en agroturismos die tussen mei en oktober bruiloften als hoofdactiviteit hebben. Het past bij stellen die een klein, warm feest willen dat tot laat doorloopt, op een plek waar hun vrienden met plezier vakantie van maken, en die accepteren dat het eiland in het seizoen voor alles een toeslag rekent.

Formentera ligt een half uur varen verderop en werkt goed als dagje uit voor gasten, minder goed als locatie zodra je er honderd mensen naartoe moet verplaatsen. Wat stellen verrast, is de geluidsregel: muziek buiten op landelijke panden stopt meestal ergens tussen elf uur en middernacht, de grens wordt door de gemeente gesteld en er wordt op gehandhaafd, dus de laatste uren van de nacht spelen zich binnen af of helemaal niet. Vraag elke locatie naar de eindtijd en de evenementenvergunning voordat je voor het terras valt.

    Versterkte muziek buiten wordt begrensd door de lokale ayuntamiento en de grens verschilt per gemeente en per pand. Laat de exacte tijd, en of het feest daarna naar binnen mag, schriftelijk vastleggen voordat jullie boeken.

    Een privévilla is niet automatisch een vergunde evenementenlocatie, en op feesten zonder vergunning wordt hier actief gecontroleerd. Vraag of het pand een feest van jullie omvang mag houden en op wiens naam de vergunning staat.

    Het seizoen is kort en dicht: de meeste locaties en leveranciers werken van mei tot oktober, en de tarieven voor villa's, hotels en huurauto's liggen in juli en augustus ver boven die in de randmaanden.

Ernaartoe komen

De luchthaven van Ibiza ligt ongeveer tien minuten van Ibiza-stad en zo'n veertig minuten van het uiterste noorden, en heeft tussen mei en oktober een dicht net aan goedkope vluchten uit heel Europa, dat buiten het seizoen sterk uitdunt. Er varen veerboten vanuit Denia, Valencia en Barcelona voor gasten die met de auto reizen, en vanaf de haven van Ibiza in ongeveer een half uur naar Formentera. De meeste gasten willen een huurauto of een plek in jullie pendelbus, want op een zomernacht is een taxi bijna niet te vinden. Vertel gasten op tijd aan welke kant van het eiland ze slapen en hoe ze om twee uur 's nachts thuiskomen.

Voordat je iemand iets belooft

Buitenlandse stellen houden heel vaak een symbolische ceremonie op het eiland en ronden het juridische huwelijk thuis af; de meeste leveranciers op het eiland gaan daar ook van uit. Waar een burgerlijk of kerkelijk huwelijk ter plaatse mogelijk is, verschillen de eisen, documenten, vertalingen en een eventuele woon- of wachttermijn per gemeente, per nationaliteit en door de tijd heen. Dit is geen juridisch advies: controleer de actuele regels bij het lokale gemeentehuis en bij jullie eigen instanties voordat jullie een datum vastleggen of iets tekenen dat van het antwoord afhangt.

Trouwregels verschillen per land, per regio en zelfs per gemeente, en ze veranderen. Zie dit als oriëntatie, niet als juridisch advies: controleer de papieren bij de plaatselijke autoriteit én bij je eigen gemeente voordat je iets boekt.
