Getting married in Dutch Coast
The Dutch coast is barefoot, informal and surprisingly beautiful: wide beaches, dune paths, beach pavilions with decks, and light in the evening that lasts until well past ten in June. It suits couples who want a relaxed party close to home, with guests who cycle or take a train in and go home the same night, and it works particularly well for a ceremony at the water followed by a long, loud dinner on the sand. Beach clubs are practised hosts and usually come with kitchen, bar, staff and a sound system, which keeps the planning light and the quotes comparable.
The constraints are wind and the calendar: the North Sea breeze is constant, hair and light fabrics need planning, and pavilions are stripped and rebuilt each season, so early spring and late autumn dates may not exist at all. What surprises couples is how loud the wind is on an open deck. Ask about wind screens and a microphone for the ceremony.

The three that catch people out
Know before you book
1
Wind is constant on an open deck. Budget for a microphone at the ceremony and ask the venue about wind screens and pinned decor.
2
Beach pavilions are seasonal structures, typically standing from spring to autumn only. Confirm the venue will physically exist on your date.
3
Sand and heels do not mix. Tell guests on the invitation and website what the ground is like, and put a basket of flip-flops by the entrance.
Getting there
Schiphol is thirty to sixty minutes from most of the coast, and the rail and tram network reaches Zandvoort, Scheveningen, Noordwijk and Bergen aan Zee directly, so guests can arrive without a car. Beach parking is limited and expensive in summer, which makes public transport the better message to put on your website. For guests staying over, coastal hotels book out on summer weekends, so block rooms early.
Before you promise anyone anything
Couples usually complete the legal marriage at their own municipality and hold a free-form or symbolic ceremony at the beach. Where an official ceremony can take place at an external location, the conditions, appointments and notice periods vary by municipality and over time. This is not legal advice: check the current rules and availability with the relevant town hall well before you set the date.
Marriage rules vary by country, region and even municipality, and they change. Treat this as orientation, not legal advice: verify the paperwork with the local authority and with your own municipality before you book anything.
Researched venues
53 wedding venues in Dutch Coast
Gathered offline through research from each venue’s own website, never a live feed, and never paid for. A venue is listed because it exists and takes weddings, not because Vow endorses it; the one line under each is what a planner would tell you to check before asking for a quote. Venue details are shown as the venue publishes them.
beach pavilion
Soul Beach
- Capacity
- not published
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure
Beach pavilion on the sand at Bergen aan Zee, at the quieter northern end of the North Holland coast, and one of the few venues in that village that markets itself for weddings. Neither capacity nor pricing is published, so ask what the pavilion seats once a dance floor is set up and whether the beach ceremony spot is included.
beach club
Branding Beachclub
- Capacity
- not published
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure
Light, open beach club on the Koningin Astridboulevard at Noordwijk with the room opening straight onto the sand, so a ceremony on the beach and the dinner indoors sit a few steps apart. Nothing is published on numbers and groups under 35 are pushed to a standard group booking, so confirm the minimum size for an exclusive wedding hire.

- Capacity
- from 30 day guests, approximately 200 adults maximum, more on request
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure
Green estate at Vrouwenpolder within walking distance of the Zeeland beach, with an outdoor ceremony field, a glass orangerie and an indoor hall as alternatives, plus cottages and lodges so guests can stay on site. Prices are quote-only and the site says it does not work with fixed packages, so budget a site visit before comparing it to a fixed-price beach venue.
beach club
Beachclub Titus

- groups of 45 to 800 people; 350+ seated for dinner
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure; the site says cost depends on guest count, ceremony type and arrangement

Suiderstrand
- Capacity
- 20 to 450 guests depending on which spaces are used
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure
Beach pavilion at strandslag 2a in Kijkduin that splits into several rooms, so it works for a small lunch party and for a large evening reception alike. Pricing is quote-only; ask which combination of rooms your guest count actually buys, since the headline 450 assumes the whole pavilion.
beach pavilion
Strandtent 14

- not published
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure

Beach club at Strand Noord on Scheveningen that will run the whole day from the ceremony on the sand through to the party, and will bundle styling and a photographer into the quote if wanted. beach restaurant
Strandrestaurant Werelds
- Capacity
- up to 85 seated indoors, 150 standing indoors; platform up to 180 seated; beach parties of 1000+ possible
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure; the site says cost depends on arrangement, guest count and wishes
Beach restaurant on Scheveningen's Strand-Noord that publishes capacity per space, so it is easy to see which room fits your guest list before contacting them. The very large figures apply to the beach itself rather than the building, so confirm what a wet-weather plan for 200 actually looks like.
beach club
Spice Beach Club
- Capacity
- not published
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure
Beach pavilion near the harbour end of Scheveningen with its own VIP lounge and a heated, covered terrace for cooler months. The site states the venue is available March to October, so a winter date is unlikely to work here.

- Price
- indoor ceremony EUR 1,500 incl. seating, sound and registrar tables; outdoor ceremony EUR 2,500 incl. flowered arbour, seating and sound
Beach pavilion at the Zwaanstraat beach entrance in Wijk aan Zee, and one of the few on this coast that publishes flat ceremony prices rather than only per-head arrangements. - Price
- not published — ask for the brochure

- not published — ask for the brochure
Isolated former post house on the western side of Vlieland, surrounded by dunes with the beach and the mudflats on either side, and one of the very few Wadden island venues running full wedding days. - not published — ask for the brochure
Group accommodation on the dunes above West-Terschelling, within walking distance of the ferry, with a bar and terrace over the Wadden mudflats. - Capacity
- two halls of different sizes; guest numbers not published
- Price
- not published — ask for the brochure
Year-round beach pavilion on the sand at Nes on Ameland, with two halls so a small ceremony and a larger party can be split across the day. Numbers and prices are quote-only, and everything including suppliers has to cross on the ferry, so build the timeline around the boat.

Manor-house estate on the edge of the Kennemer dunes with 75 hotel rooms, an English landscape garden and a garden pavilion for the ceremony, which puts it at the top of this destination's price range.
