Le lac de Côme offre la solennité sans la raideur : des villas baroques aux jardins taillés, une arrivée en bateau, la montagne derrière l'eau. Il convient aux couples qui veulent une journée classique et soignée pour soixante à cent vingt invités, et que ne dérange pas un lieu qui fonctionne selon ses propres règles. Les grandes villas sont très demandées et limitent souvent où et combien de temps vous pouvez passer de la musique, surtout dehors.

Le bateau est ici la monnaie locale du romantisme et la source locale du retard : si vous déplacez vos invités par l'eau, comptez le temps d'embarquement deux fois et désignez quelqu'un pour rassembler tout le monde sur le ponton. S'y rendre

Milan Malpensa et Bergame sont les aéroports habituels, tous deux à une heure ou une heure et demie de route du lac, Linate étant un peu plus proche pour les invités qui passent par Milan. Les trains depuis Milan desservent facilement Côme et Varenna : les invités sans voiture sont donc bien mieux lotis ici que dans la plupart des destinations rurales. Dites clairement sur votre site de quel côté du lac se trouvent vos hôtels, car le traverser demande un ferry ou un long détour en voiture.
