Ce qui surprend les couples, c'est la fermeté avec laquelle les parcs sont protégés : classement au titre des monuments, arbres anciens, gravier et pelouses limitent où l'on peut rouler, planter, accrocher ou éclairer quoi que ce soit.

À savoir avant de réserver

    Le parc est au mieux à partir de fin mai, mais un été néerlandais reste pluvieux. Vérifiez que la solution de repli en intérieur permet d'asseoir tous vos invités, et pas seulement de les accueillir debout.

S'y rendre

Presque tout le monde vient en voiture. La ceinture des châteaux court d'Utrecht à travers la Gueldre jusqu'au Brabant et au Limbourg, à une heure ou une heure et demie d'Amsterdam, de Rotterdam et de la frontière allemande. Schiphol et Eindhoven couvrent les invités qui arrivent en avion, et les gares principales d'Utrecht, d'Arnhem, de Bois-le-Duc et de Maastricht ne laissent qu'un trajet en taxi jusqu'à la plupart des domaines. Le stationnement sur l'herbe ou le gravier est limité et peut fermer par temps humide : convenez d'une règle pour les voitures laissées la nuit et d'un plan taxi avant l'envoi des faire-part.

Avant de promettre quoi que ce soit

Les couples règlent souvent le mariage civil à la mairie de leur commune et tiennent une cérémonie libre ou symbolique au domaine. Aux Pays-Bas, une cérémonie n'acquiert de valeur légale que dans un lieu que la commune a désigné pour les mariages, ou par un dispositif de huwelijk op locatie convenu avec la commune (gemeente) pour cette date et ce bâtiment.
